Organizing an Opinion Essay 

🎯 Objective: I can introduce the topic I am writing about, state my opinion, and create an organizational structure that lists reasons.

Purpose: Good writers organize their paper effectively for readers to understand their opinion.

Materials Needed: 

notepad.png Paper and a pencil 

Student Instructions:

1.  Attack the prompt to understand what you will be writing about. 

2.  Create a graphic organizer on your blank piece of paper.

3.  Complete your graphic organizer.  

3.  Submit a picture of your completed graphic organizer.

4.  Keep your graphic organizer in a safe place for your next writing mini lesson on Week 5.

Prompt:  Tablet or paperback? Some people enjoy reading on a device like an iPad or Kindle, but others enjoy a good book in their hands.  Which do you prefer?  Create a graphic organizer that states your opinion, has 2-3 appropriate reasons, supporting details, and a conclusion.
