Subjects

 Reading

We will be reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction stories, dramas, poems, fables, and informational texts.  We will work on skills and strategies for comprehension and fluency.

Writing

We will be writing every day with Writer’s Workshop and working on the writing process.

 Math

We will still focus on Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations in Base Ten, Measurement and Data, and Geometry.

 Science

We will learn science standards through exploration and discovery.  We will dive into relationships in ecosystems, processes that shape the earth, and the structure and properties of matter.

 Social Studies

We will learn to develop a sense of self within a family, school, and community.  We will compare communities and different cultures.  Also, we will practice basic map skills.
