 You have recently graduated from college and have just landed your first full-time job.

Thanks to your extensive health background, you have been hired as a Youth Educator by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Your position requires you to research a disease that affects members of the community and present your work within the Davis School District.

TASK

 Your supervisor at the CDC, Dr. Fawcett ;) has just given you your first assignment.

• Create a presentation to teach others about a disease you are assigned that affects the body.

Your supervisor has high expectations for you.  Your presentation should be:

• Informative
• Presented in a manner that 12-14 year olds can understand
• Interesting and hold the attention of your 8th grade audience
• Creative and Neatly done
• Completed by Due date listed on Canvas

PROCESS

You are going to create a Power Point Presentation with your voice recorded explaining each slide. You must include the following information in your project: (see rubric)

• Name of disease/Student name
• A basic description of the disease
• Symptoms of disease
• Transmission (How it spreads: sneezing, mosquito, etc..)
• Risk factors for the disease (Who is most likely to get it: Jobs, Countries, Ages?)
• Cures/Treatments
• Prevention of the disease
• How the disease affects the body
• Interesting Facts unique to this disease

**You will submit your final project here for peer review by the due date. Your peers will be assigned to you on the due date. If you do not have your project submitted by the due date you will have to contact your supervisor, Dr. Fawcett at melfawcett@dsdmail.net and have her assign you peers to review.

You will review 9 peers and fill in the graphic organizer about each disease that you view.
