A Little About Me

I grew up in Salt Lake City and attended East High School. After my graduation from BYU, we lived in California for 12 years where I taught school and earned my master's degree in education. We then moved back to Utah to be closer to our extended family.
This is my 30th year of teaching! I have taught every grade from kindergarten to sixth grade (except fourth grade). Sixth graders are my favorite!
I have a wonderful husband and two super kids. My son Travis is a senior at the University of Utah studying computational linguistics, and my daughter Brianna teaches 9th-grade English and Creative Writing at Mueller Park Junior High. We love to travel, go camping, and play games as a family.

I spend most of my free time reading, but I also love to watch movies and solve sudoku and crossword puzzles. I also like to say that teaching is my hobby. I am very involved in lots of education-related projects outside the classroom such as writing curriculum for the district and the state. I was named a 2020 Best of Davis teacher.
I love the color yellow, creamy chocolate desserts, and Indian food.
But most of all, I love being a teacher. I have the best job in the world!
