Term 2 Expectations
Classroom Expectations
The classroom expectations are the same as last term, but will be more important than ever now that our class sizes are larger. The key is respect. Have enough respect for your classmates to create a positive learning environment for them. This means only playing your instrument when asked to, not talking unless you raise your hand, etc. Please make the band hall a great environment for everyone to learn in!
Practice Journals
You will still be expected to practice the same number of minutes that was expected of you last term. You will turn in a practice journal each week. The minutes for any given week are due on the Monday after that week ends. If you would like to turn them in before that Monday, you are welcome to. IT IS EXPECTED THAT YOU WRITE A PRACTICE GOAL AND STRATEGY FOR EACH TIME YOU PRACTICE! IF YOU DON'T YOU WON'T RECEIVE FULL CREDIT! You will do so in an updated template that can be found in the module "Important Documents For This Term." I will no longer accept pictures or practice journals in different formats. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Video Submissions
You will still be expected to submit video submissions. We will most likely have one video submission due every other week. In these video submissions, be sure to use submit a video in which I can see your face and hands. VIDEO SUBMISSIONS SHOULD ALWAYS BE SUBMITTED WITH A METRONOME OR RECORDING! IF YOU DON'T USE ONE, YOU WON'T RECEIVE FULL CREDIT!
Concerts
Although we don't know for certain, we are hoping to have our first in person concert on the 10th of December! Be sure to review the concert expectations document found in the "Important Documents For This Term" module.
Online Assignments
You will have several online assignments through the course of the semester. There will not be many, but make sure you're checking in on the Canvas page so you don't miss them.
I'm very excited for another term of amazing music making! As always, if you ever have any questions or if there is anything that I can do to help you, please don't hesitate to reach out and let me know!
