Instructions

Hopefully you have learned how to read a tape measure correctly. Now it's time to test how good you are at it. Record the measurement to the nearest 1/16th indicated by the red arrow. Your answers must be reduced fractions.  Do not include units. Write out fractions in this format: 3/8. If the measurement includes whole inches, put a space between the inch number and the fraction like this: 5 7/16 (five and seven sixteenths).  Here's an example:Measurement Example.jpg

The answer to the example would be written as 6 15/16 (six and 15 sixteenths).
