To help your child’s understanding they will be building skills to:

Math parent pro tips to help your child.

  • Let students have productive struggle. This means they need to think it through and spend some time. Mathematicians don’t arrive at a solution quickly. They think about what they know, any patterns that they see, and they persevere.
  • Believe that your child can excel in mathematics!
  • Questions/suggestions that you can use to help you child rather than giving them the answer:
    • Why?
    • Prove it?
    • What do you know?
    • Act out the problem.
    • Draw a picture.
    • Visualize the problem.
