For this activity students will need the "shape sorting" pages found in the lesson materials.  They will need to print them out.

Play media comment.

Cut out the shapes along the dotted lines.  You will have 16 shapes.

Sort the shapes.  

Determine your categories and be able to explain why you chose those categories.

1.  What categories did you use?

2.  Were all partitions the same size?

3.  Which shapes had partitions that were not the same size?
