For this lesson you will need the Swimmer Distances recording sheet found in the lesson materials. You may want to use the graph paper found in the lesson materials. and a ruler. Also, crayons or colored pencils may be helpful.
Five friends went swimming in a race across the pool.
Mark on the same recording sheet and number lines as before. Use a different colored pencil or crayon to distinguish.
Mark and label number line models on the Swimmer Distances recording sheet to show where each swimmer is in the competition.
Caution: be precise in your tick marks.
You will want your 0 and 1 to line up for all of your number lines.
