On your Fractions...recording sheet, label the number line with the whole numbers 0 to 6.

A whole number is a number starting at 0 and counting by 1 unit. 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on.

Part 1

Look at a yellow hexagon.

This is our whole.

What is the fraction?

$LaTeX: \frac{1}{1}$ $\frac{1}{1}$
The numerator of 1 means there is one part being counted. The denominator of 1 means sharing equally with one part--or the whole is shared equally in 1 group.
