Welcome to Class! I have the great opportunity to teach lots of different things! College and Career Awareness (CCA), Digital Literacy, Study Skills, Art 1, and Student Government!

CCA

College and Career Awareness offers exploration and preparation in college and career pathways focusing on jobs that are in high demand, as well as satisfying and financially rewarding.

The College and Career Awareness course is designed to help students identify their interests, abilities, and skills to begin to make college and career goals for the future.

College and Career Awareness is designed to acquaint students with the Utah labor market and the employment opportunities for which they can prepare by defining a College and Career Ready Plan.

Digital Literacy

This course is a foundation to the digital world that provides a broad understanding of key applications, computing fundamentals, and living online.

Students will have the opportunities to use technology to develop skills that promote creativity, critical thinking, productivity, and collaboration in the classroom and day-to-day life. This course is aligned with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) for students, the K-12 Computer Science Standards and industry standards for Digital Literacy Certification.

The alignment of these national and international benchmarks ensure that students complete this course as a prerequisite to transition successfully to the 9-12 grade digital studies courses.

Creative Coding

Students learn how to code by working in a real software development environment to design, program and publish mobile apps and games. They will be learning to code by creating real products! Students discover how to make amazing things that can have an impact on their world.

Study Skills

This class is designed to equip young minds with essential learning strategies that go beyond simply passing their classes. Through interactive sessions, students will practice time management, learn note-taking techniques, and the power of organization. With a focus on fostering a growth mindset and nurturing a passion for learning, this class aims to empower students with the tools they need to excel not only in their studies but also in their lifelong goals and endeavors.

Student Government

Student government offers students excellent ways to get involved in the inner workings of our schools. Student government is charged with managing a wide range of events, activities, programs, policies and initiatives around school. Student government should represent the best interests of our school’s student body and helps shape student experience!
