Instructor Information

Hi!  I am Jill Nielson and I teach 7th Grade Math and 7th Grade Math Honors at Bountiful Junior High. 

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I began my teaching career in 1992 after graduating from the University of Utah.  I taught 7th Grade Math,  8th Grade Math, Pre-Algebra,  Algebra (before Common Core!) as well as 8th Grade Health in the Granite School District until 1999 when I took a break  to raise my children.  A few years later my family moved to San Antonio, TX for 14 years and we loved Texas!  We've been back in Utah since 2015. 

I have been married for over 30 years, and I am privileged to be a mom of 4 children and 1 black cat named Oliver (Ollie) who likes to watch TV shows or Youtube videos with birds, squirrels, and other cats. He also has TONS of nicknames.

My twins (a son and daughter) are 25, another daughter is 23, and my youngest daughter is 18.  

I love C H O C O L A T E !!  I also like to watch K-Dramas/Rom Coms,  British mysteries like "Sherlock", and other PBS shows like NOVA and Nature and cooking shows.  I LOVE to listen to music, especially from the 80's, but that's because I grew up in the 80's so it's all good!  I also love almost all animals with fur.  One of my favorite places to vacation is California where my best friend lives.  I've know her since I was 2 years old!

I joined Bountiful Junior High in 2018 and I love this school!  I have the best job in the world!
