Spartan Academy – 7^th Grade Class Disclosure

Spartan Academy will meet after 2nd/6th period (Every day but Wednesday) from 10:50am – 11:15am and 11:50am – 12:15pm with lunch in between from 11:15am – 11:45am (Lunch 2). On Wednesdays, you meet after 1^st/5^th period from 10:50am – 11:10am and 11:45am – 12:15pm with lunch in between from 11:10am – 11:40am (Lunch 2.

Attendance is required for all South Davis Junior High Students. Advisory is identified as Period 10 on their schedule.

Attendance: Students must have at least 80% attendance – excused absences will not be counted against you.

Citizenship grades will be based on behavior and participation.

Activities/Assignments: There will be Advisory assignments (1 per week/per Term).

Assignments are no more than 15 - 20 minutes each and are divided into 4 categories:

1. Safety and Procedures

2. Digital Skills

3. Spartan Code Characters for Student Success

4. Weekly planner checks: students must write something for each class every day in their planner to earn a 4.

Cooperation, participation, being on time, and following rules, and participation will determine a student's citizenship grade. While specific amounts of tardies are listed in the rubric, teachers and students can work together to “work off” tardies, minor disruptions, etc. or have them removed based on individual contracts between teacher and student. Students may also complete the activities/assignments to improve citizenship It should be noted however, that this typically applies to students in jeopardy of earning a “U” in citizenship.

H = No tardies, helps others, acts as a leader, completes all activities/assignments

G = 1 tardy, helps others, completes most activities/assignments

S = 2 tardies, minor class disruptions, completes some activities/assignments

N = 3 tardies, disruptive completes few activities/assignments

U = 4 or more tardies, truancy, major disruption(s), completes no activities/assignments

Midterm: At Midterm, students will receive a progress report. Students receiving a “U” or “F” will be notified.
