Imagine you are a reviewer for a microcredential on lesson planning. For the reflection piece, one of the questions submitters must answer is below:
Reflect back on your experience completing this microcredential. What changes or improvements would you make to your lesson planning in the future?
The criteria for this reflection are as follows:
Criterion 1: The educator’s reflection is thorough and complete, and discusses the personal and professional takeaways of their experience.
Criterion 2: The educator’s reflection is organized, concise, and coherent.
Criterion 3: The reflection describes at least one modification the educator plans to make to their lesson planning in the future.
Two submitters have sent in microcredential for review. Look through their reflection responses below and answer the questions in this quiz based on the reflection requirements and criteria.
| Reflection 1: I enjoyed completing the lesson planning microcredential and found it to be very helpful to my practice as an educator. It has been many years since I went through my teacher training program in college and actually had to sit down and reflect on the lesson planning process. Lesson planning is something I do all the time a third grade teacher, but this microcredential has helped me look at my lesson planning in new ways. By completing this activity, I was able to see several areas where I need to improve in my planning so that I can provide a better experience for my students. |
| Reflection 2: After thinking about this experience, I plan on utilizing different types of activities in my planning. I love the games that I used in this lesson, but I know that it only caters to one type of student. In order to make students feel more comfortable with different activity types, I started introducing different activities for their review assignments. I felt this was an easy way for students to get comfortable with new activity types while still being successful with the material (since it is reviewing what we previously learned). As I plan lessons going forward, I will start incorporating some of these new activity types. Recently, I planned a lesson and included a PowerPoint, a matching game, and an escape room. In the future, I also want to incorporate more new assessment types so that I can use a variety of ways to get feedback from my students. |
