AP Jewelry

This is class is actually called "AP 3D Art and Design." In this course, you’ll investigate materials, processes, and ideas. You’ll make works of art and design by practicing, experimenting, and revising, and you will communicate your ideas about art and design through written and visual expression.

In this course you will spend one school year creating art for a portfolio that you’ll submit to College Board for credit. There is not a written test for this course. The portfolio is the test. It is recommended that most of your portfolio art will be tied together with one unifying theme (guiding question/investigation) of your choice. Students could receive college credit when scoring high on the test.

  • This is a college level course, so college level work and dedication are expected and required to earn college credit by building a successful portfolio.
  • This course is for art students with a genuine vested interest in delving deep into the artistic process and creating a mature body of work.
  • This course requires that students spend many hours inside and outside of class to develop their art. Students MUST work on art at home to be successful.
  • This course is for students that prioritize art and are excited to get to work.
  • This course is not for students with only a mild interest in art as a passing hobby.
  • This course is not for those that cannot accept and use feedback on personal art.
