Read- In the large Wonders book (or online), find the story, "Lizzie Bright". Yesterday, we made predictions and read most of the story in class. Today, you will finish listening to the story, if we didn't get all the way through. When the story is finished, go back and look at your predictions that we filled out yesterday. Were they correct? If yes, great, if no, what actually happened?
Now we are going to do a second read or close read of the story to find more information. Reread the selection as a class and we will stop and ask questions along the way.
As you reread- think about the theme of the story. Remember, theme is the message you learn from a story. After rereading the story, write down some details/evidence that support your idea on what the theme is on your paper.
