Weekly Concept: Inspiration
Essential Question: What can people accomplish by working together?
Objective: You will be able summarize the main points of the narrative text and will cite text evidence to help with the summary.
Vocabulary Words: this week for each vocabulary word, we will define the word, draw a picture representation, find synonyms and use it in our own sentence.
Today, we will review the word and define it as a class.

Essential Question-
Think about a time you worked with someone to accomplish your goals. What was helpful about having more than one hand?

Shared Read- Jewels of the Sea (pg. 194) Today we will read about how the women of Zanzibar work together to accomplish several goals.
First Read- Read the text as a class. This week we are focusing on summarizing and sequencing. As you listen to the story think of how you would summarize what happens to the characters in the text.
- As a class, we will use sequencing and text evidence to summarize the section "A Fresh Approach".
Second Read- You will now read the text in pairs and complete Ask student pairs to work together to write a summary of the section “Building on Their Success,” placing the events in sequence. Make sure to include only the most important ideas.
