Informational Writing

Objective: 

• I can write an informative piece which examines a topic and convey ideas where I:
  • introduce a topic, organize ideas with appropriate structure, include formatting and graphics when useful
  • use facts, definitions, details and quotations or other examples to develop the topic
  • use appropriate transitions to clarify relationships among ideas
  • use precise language and vocabulary to explain about the topic
  • establish and maintain a formal style
  • provide a concluding statement or section

Todays Goal: Complete research (spend no more than 10-15 min) and then begin rough draft.

• Today you need to finish up your research on your topic. Remember to bookmark any pages you found so you can go back to them. Also make sure to fill out your source list in your packet.
