Last week, we started working on our new science unit: ECOSYSTEMS!! Here is a review of the reports that you have been preparing. They are due TODAY (Wednesday, Mar. 30)!! We will be sharing them in class. :)
There are over 1,000 species of vertebrate and invertebrate animals in Utah. Choose TWO from the list that is attached. Science Animals of Utah.docx Download Science Animals of Utah.docx
Research as much as you can about them. Gather interesting information about the animals and make sure to the answers to these questions:
- What do they eat?
- What eats them?
- What temperature/climate does it prefer?
- How much water does it need?
- Is it a threatened species (that is, is there a chance it will go extinct?) or are there a lot of them?
After you have gathered information/pictures, make a PowerPoint to share with the class. Your PowerPoint will be graded on the following rubric:
5 points - Did you provide a DETAILED answer for each question?
2 points - Did you include a picture(s) of the animal?
3 points - Did you provide interesting additional information about the animal and how/where it lives?
