  2. What were the 2 sides fighting for?
  3. What made World War I deadlier than any other war before it?
  4. What was formed after World War I ended?
  5. What is a front?
  6. What did both sides use during the war that was banned after the war was over?
  7. What did people hope after World War I was over?
  8. Compare the map on the first page (110) to the map on the second page (111). List and explain differences in the 2 maps.
