Collagraph Printmaking
Collagraph is a basic a method of printmaking
using a board with collage materials glued onto it
to form a relief surface with a variety of textures.
A very creative and experimental form of
printmaking, collagraph prints can be made with
many different materials, including cardboard,
yarn, fabric, leaves, masking tape and more.

For this project you will be making a chipboard collograph print in class.

Step 1:  Draw a design based on your chosen them for the year.  Consider the elements of Space and Choose 1 Principle of Design in your composition.  You will have background shapes, a middle ground and a foreground.

 

Step 2:  Draw and cut out your shapes starting from the background.

Step 3:  Glue your cardboard shapes onto the matrix starting with the background.
