I have lived in Utah all my life. I grew up in Farr West and South Ogden. Since I was a little girl I wanted to be a nurse. I researched it all growing up. When I was in High School, I took the CNA program at Weber State University. It was so long a go, they didn't offer it in high school. I worked at a Long-term Facility during my senior year. I got into the nursing program after high school and did my generals and the nursing program at the same time! It was a super duper crazy few years.
I have always wanted to work with babies. After high school, I got a job at the hospital and worked as a CNA on the Medical/Surgical floor. After I graduated with my Registered Nurse degree I moved to Postpartum (taking care of moms after they have babies). It was so much fun. But, I wanted more. I switched to the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) and worked there for 10 years.
In the mean time, I got married to my high school sweetheart and started having kids. I have 3 boys. These boys started growing up and having activities in the evenings and I was missing them. I love watching my boys do anything and everything. I cried all the way to my car the day I quit the NICU. I changed jobs and started doing Home Care for a diabetic management team. I did that for 3 years before I started working for Davis School District as a Clinical Instructor. I fell in love with high school students! It was in 2012 that Syracuse High started a CNA program and I have been here since. I love my job! I love these students and I love even more watching them grow up and becoming who they have always dreamed of becoming!
