About 6th Grade Scheduling

6th grade is this into Immersion and non-Immersion groups.

Here in 6th grade, we split the students into the Immersion and Non-Immersion programs. Each group has a team of teachers who then divide up the content your student will be learning.

Immersion Non-Immersion

Mrs. Stephens: Math, History and Reading

Sra. Yslas: Spanish, Writing, and Science

Mrs. Kumar: History, Writing, and Science

Mr. Roundy: Math and Reading

Extra Learning Activities

Each Friday, the whole grade will participate in a variety of activities. These include Art, Virtual Field Trips, Minecraft, and an incentive for completing all classwork.

We will also be having LYNX Time Monday thru Thursday at the end of the day. This is a flex learning period where the students will get to choose from a selection of activities to include the 4 C's: Collaboration, Creativity, Communication, and Critical Thinking.

Expectations

In each classroom, we will discuss our specific expectations and consequences; however, we have four basic School-wide rules follow:

  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible
  • Be Safe
  • Be Kind

Technology Rules:

  • Laptops Plugged in EVERY NIGHT!!!!
  • Bring Laptops to school every day

  • Minor misbehavior incidents will be handled in class, but if the behaviors adversely affect the educational or personal rights of individuals or the class in general, then parents and/or the School Administration may be involved.

Homework

Time will be given in each class to complete all school assignments. Any assignments not completed in class will be then be considered homework.

Playlist items include required and optional activities. Students will have a Playlist course in Canvas. Time will be given in class to work on these items. But in order to receive associated prizes, students may need to work on items at home also.
