Using Energy

This storyline consists of 4 episodes. Each episode ranges from 45-75 minutes in length (some episodes have more than 1 session- meaning it will take more than 1 day). The students will be arguing from evidence to explain objects can only be seen with light.  They will then investigate several phenomena to learn more about how light reflects off of other objects. 

 

Episode Overview:

Episode 1: Students will plan and carry out an investigation to determine the cause and develop a model of light.

• • Approx: 1- 45-60 minute session 

Episode 2: Students will plan and carry out an investigation to determine the cause and develop a model of why we can see more details on some objects.  

• • Approx: 1- 45-60 minute session 

Episode 3: Students will plan and carry out an investigation to determine the cause and develop a model of why you can see a reflection. 

• • Approx: 1- 45-60 minute session

Episode 4: Students will design a model that shows the how we can affect the path of light with mirrors.

• • Approx: 1- 60- 75 minute session
