LATE WORK
If there is not enough time in class, students will finish assignments in SUNDEVIL ACADAMEY or at home. There are two firm deadlines for all assigned work – MID TERM and TERM.
ASSIGNMENTs 20% of Grade - Assignments are practices or group work that are completed in class or at home. Assignments are learning activities designed to practice skills necessary to prepare students for assessments.
ASSESSMENTs 80% of Grade
Assessments are used to determine mastery of standards and skills. Assessments will be taken and completed in class. If a student is absent during an assessment, the student will need to make up the assessment the day they return either in class or during advisory. If a student is caught with an electronic device out during the testing time, their test will be taken, and an alternate will be given.
Cheating
Students caught cheating in any form will receive an ‘N’ for the first infraction and will be allowed to take an alternate assessment. An automatic ‘U’ will be given for any infraction following and referred to the administration.
Students will only be allowed to use the ‘Skill struck’ AI to aid them in writing assignments and assessments. No other AI programs can be used.
Cheating is considered both giving and/or receiving completed work in any form.
RE-DO/RETAKE:
Students may re-do/re-take an Assessment at the discretion of the teacher if: The original assessment was taken within a timely manner. For the second attempt- Student has completed ALL practice and assignments to prepare for the assessment. The midterm or end of term deadline has not passed. Student plans with the teacher to re-do/re-take the assessment. There will be NO opportunity to re-do Book Reports.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) should be approached with caution at this time, especially within an educational context. Therefore, our curriculum WILL NOT include AI integration, and AI will not be allowed while working on assignments except for Skill Struck. If use of other AI is suspected, a score of 0 will be given on the assignment. The student will then have ONE opportunity to re-do the assignment without the use of AI to receive a score for the assignment.
