About Your Teacher

Welcome to third grade.  I am Mrs. Swenson and I love being a teacher at East Layton Elementary.

This is my 21th year teaching and my 15th year teaching third grade.  Third grade is my favorite! We get to learn all about multiplication and how to write in cursive. We also get to be voracious readers.

Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I also like to quilt and knit.  I spend the summer camping with my family.  I have five kids and my husband is also a teacher. I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and 6 horses.  I just got my first horse a year ago and I have been learning to be a cowgirl. You can see that I love animals. I also love pink and anything chocolate! You will usually see me with a Diet Coke on my desk.

Being a teacher is a great way to spend your day.  Thanks for letting me spend my day with you.  I love the quote “Children may forget what you say, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
