Welcome to Your Fourth Grade Canvas Course!
Please pull up Canvas in the new Edge Browser. If you are in a different browser, switch it to Edge now.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN COMPREHENSION EACH DAY:
- Have Canvas open in one tab and McGraw-Hill open in a different tab.
- You can find McGraw-Hill through Clever (which is linked on each Comprehension page/assignment in this module) and it will automatically open in a new tab.
OR
- On the navigation page on the left of the screen, you should see "McGraw Hill" listed as an option. This will open up McGraw Hill within the Canvas platform. However, it will not open in another tab. So if you want to use it through Canvas, then you will have to open Canvas in two separate tabs- one with McGraw Hill open and one with your comprehension page/assignment open so that you can easily go between the two programs.
McGraw-Hill Books:
You will be reading/working from one of the McGraw Hill Books every day -- either the Reader's Writer's Workshop or the Anthology text.
Fluency:
Important: If you are using an iPad, you will not have the ability to do a voice recording in canvas for your fluency recordings. Here are some options to complete these fluency assignments
- If you have a home computer, you can do it on there.
- You can record yourself using your iPad voice memos and upload your recording file into Canvas. To do this you will need to have another device available (smart phones work great) to view the passage to read or you can print it out. If these options do not work for you, please contact your teacher for help.
Pause the VIDEOS: You are welcome to pause any videos at any time if you need extra time to complete an assignment or need to take a break.
Utilizing the Skills throughout the week:
Use any comprehension skills, fluency skills, writing skills, or phonics skills that are being discussed in the lessons throughout the week--no matter what lesson you are currently working on.
