In this step we focus on the ideas and organization of our writing. Looking for spelling errors and punctuation come next in the EDIT stage. Everyone can improve their writing!
1. Using the Revision Checklist above, revise your own writing. Reading your writing aloud can be helpful while you're revising.
2. Find a partner. Review each other's writing using the Revision Checklist.
3. Review your own and your partner's notes. Make any necessary changes to your writing.
4. Now you're ready to EDIT. Using the Edit Checklist above, review your writing for spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors. Reading aloud can be helpful in this stage, too.
5. Find a partner. Review each others writing using the Edit Checklist.
6. Review your own and your partner's notes. Make any necessary changes to your writing.
7. Finally, you're ready to SHARE your writing! Your teacher will advise you on how to share your hard work! Take a moment to stop and appreciate all of that hard work and wonderful thinking you did this week!
