Student Checklist
Student Checklist
· Eat a good breakfast
· Arrive to school on time with a good attitude
· Get to your classes on time each day
· Complete all homework
· Take home binder and needed materials to complete homework each day
· Complete planner each day and get it signed each week
· Keep binder organized
· Be at the right place at the right time with the right things each day.
· Read at least 20 minutes each day
· Study spelling and vocabulary each week
· Study for tests and quizzes
· Start projects as soon as they are assigned
· Be attentive in class
· Keep desk area clean
· Follow directions first time asked
· Do your personal best
· Cooperate with others in class
· Be kind to everyone

Parent Checklist
Parent Checklist:
Here is a list of things your student should be checking off with you weekly:
1. Check your student’s planner at least once or twice a week. Sign once a week Please no signing ahead.
2. Check your student’s math homework at least once or twice a week. Spot check some of the problems on the assignment. Ask your student what he/she is learning and to show you.
3. Give your student the opportunity to read at least 20 minutes each night and sign weekly Ferrari Folder with reading minutes.
4. Go over spelling words each week. Your student will receive a test on Friday.
5. Help your student choose good books to read. Ask your student about the books he/she is reading.
6. Go over weekly vocabulary with your student. Your student will take a vocabulary test on Fridays.
7. Check country report status. Follow rubrics and time-lines to help your student complete projects on time.
8. Proofread your student’s writing assignments. Give suggestions and comments to help your student improve his/her writing skills.
9. Check your student’s data tracker weekly on their OneDrive account.
10. Every Thursday a weekly progress report is sent home. Make sure your student makes up any missing work immediately and sign grade sheet.

Priority Skills
Reading: Students will be able to read a sixth grade expository passage at 120 words per minute.
Math: Students will be able to:
Multiply 60 basic facts in a two minute timing
Divide 60 basic facts in a two minute timing
After students have passed these skills off, there will be a progression of skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions, factor trees, GCF and LCM.
Writing: Students will be able to write 5 organized paragraphs, both informative and argumentative, with clear development, organization, style, siting textual evidence, and using correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Students should earn a score of 24 or higher or show a 2 point growth on the Utah Compose program.
Science: Students will be able to develop an accurate model for each unit to show their understanding of content following a rubric provided by the teacher.
