Say No to Cheating!
There has been an increase in cheating this term. As a reminder, cheating will result in a 0 on the assignment and a "U" in citizenship. There is no excuse for cheating of any form. Talk to me if you need help or need extra time to complete an assignment. Below are cheating scenarios I've seen this year. Be sure you are not doing these things!
- A student sends another students their completed assignment. Both students will be reprimanded for cheating. You're not "helping" your friend by sending your answers. Even when I allow you to work in a group, nobody should have the same wording.
- A student looks up information about their outside reading book online. You're only hurting yourself by not reading. It will show when your lexile doesn't increase as much this year.
- A student attempts to look up quiz answers on their phone or Chromebook.
What can you do to avoid cheating?
- Don't procrastinate! Read your outside reading book regularly so that you can finish.
- Come at 9:00 on Wednesday mornings to get help or come after school.
- Study!
- Revise low-scoring assignments for a higher grade.
- If your friend asks you to see/share your work, say NO! Say that you don't want to get in trouble.
