STEP 2: Listen to the song titled "Calypso" and follow along to the lyrics. Think about how it portrays Calypso in a different way than the story you just read. Calypso

STEP 3: Watch the following two short movie clips depicting Odysseus leaving Calypso. Pay close attention to how the movie portrays Odysseus and Calypso as you will be comparing and contrasting these clips to the book synopsis and a song.

STEP 4: You will be completing a Triple Venn Diagram which allows you to compare and contrast three different texts. For this assessment, you will be comparing and contrasting the part of the story where Odysseus leaves Calypso that is depicted in the synopsis of Homer's Book 5 with the movie clips and Vega's song. Focus on all of the elements of SOAPSTONE in your Triple Venn. If you are working at home and the movie links aren't working, skip the sections that have to do with the movie. Only compare/contrast Homer's version to the song lyrics.
