Let's review some literary terms to prepare for a creepy story!
- Inferring: using clues and background knowledge to get a deeper understanding
- Unreliable narrator: a narrator that the reader cannot trust
Types of irony:
- Situational irony: The opposite of what we would expect to happen
- Verbal irony: Saying the opposite of what you mean (sarcasm)
- Dramatic Irony: The reader or audience knows something a character does not
Pay close attention to irony in the story! You will be writing a response about the use of irony.
