Online Code of Ethics
With the increase in digital learning formats, it is important that each student clearly understand the code of ethics for online learning for my class outlined below:
- Students will be allowed to collaborate with the teacher and with their peers on any assignments that are deemed group work or practice.
- Students will NOT be allowed to collaborate with their peers on essays, tests, or quizzes. Any attempts to copy someone else's work, receive answers from a peer, or share answers/work with a peer will be closely monitored via plagiarism checks and other forms of supervision. Students may reach out to their teacher for guidance on writing essays.
- At the end of each assessment, you will be asked to answer a question about your ethical behavior regarding the assessment. If you violate the code of ethics, it is better for you to admit this to the instructor and make plans for an alternative assessment. If you violate the code of ethics but do not let the instructor know and your behavior is discovered, you will receive a "0" on that assessment with no retakes.
