Learn: 

You will have 3 different options on how to successfully complete this assignment. Your job is to choose an option and complete the assignment by the assigned due date. Your options are as follows: 

Option 1: Attend the BAM social & join BAM

The Social:

BAM is a Business & Marketing club here at Northridge that focuses on helping students to more fully prepare for the professional world. We are holding a BAM social during lunch on September 16, 2022. Ms. Banta, Mrs. Bradley, and Mr. Pace will have the chance to explain what participation in BAM will look like, and specific benefits available to students who join and compete. Lunch will be provided to all in attendance. 

Joining BAM:

After the social, joining BAM will happen by filling out the form through a QR code provided by your teacher. When you join BAM, you are joining both the FBLA Club and the DECA Club. From there you will be eligible to compete in competitions for both of these clubs. Description of the competitions will be provided at the social. Registration will include a fee of $30. This will cover the registration fee for both FBLA & DECA. Additional fees will apply based on competitions you compete in. 

NOTE: If the $30 registration fee is an issue, go speak to your teacher directly. There are many ways for us to help you with these fees. PLEASE do not let the money be the only thing stopping you from joining. If help is needed, it can be provided. 

Option 2: Attend the BAM social & write a 2 page paper (Times New Roman, 12pt. font, double spaced)

The Paper: 

You will be writing a 2 page, MLA format paper, reflecting on what you learned at the BAM social. You will ultimately respond to the prompt: "Why are FBLA and DECA so beneficial for high school students?" Be sure to explain the career preparation and advantages offered by both, individually. Be sure to use information directly from FBLA's website Links to an external site. and DECA's website Links to an external site.. 

Option 3: Write a 5 Page Report on FBLA & DECA (Times New Roman, 12pt. font, double spaced)

The Report: 

You will be writing a 5 page, MLA format report. This report will cover the origin & foundation of both FBLA & DECA. When did they start? Where did they start? Why did they start? Who started them? Once you have sufficiently covered the origin story of both clubs (3 pages), you will use the final two pages to respond the prompt: "What type of lasting effect can participation in FBLA & DECA have on a student's future?" Be sure to get specific success stories as examples.
