Viking Academy Class Disclosure

Viking Academy is a mentoring period held each week. The class will meet before 2nd/6th period from 10:20-10:50 on Wednesdays. Students will be assigned to their 2nd-period teacher (released time, home release, and magnet students will be assigned to a mentor teacher with a prep period).

Attendance is required for all students. Viking Academy is identified as Period 10 on your schedule.

This is a Pass (P) or No-credit class. This means that a student will either complete the requirements for a grade or not have a grade at all. The following are the minimum requirements to earn a Pass (P).

Attendance: Students must attend at least 5 classes each term to receive a passing grade.

Academics: Students must complete all required assignments. All assignments will be found on Canvas.

Credit: Students will receive .25 elective credit for the course at the end of the school year.

Assignments will take about 10-15 min each and are divided into 3 categories:

  1. Safety and School Procedures
  2. Digital Citizenship Skills
  3. Portrait of a Graduate skills based on resources from USBE and Davis School District
