Directions for Submitting Your Audition Video

Make your video:

• Position the camera so you are clearly in view with your instrument.
• Please clearly state your name before you begin playing. 
• Check your video for sound quality. The quality of the microphone and your distance away make a difference! 

You can either share a link after downloading the video to YouTube or upload the video into Canvas Studio. 

When you finish, upload your video to your Canvas Studio:

• If you created your video using a smartphone, download (if you haven't already) the Canvas for Students app and install it on your device. If you use your computer, open Canvas.
• Log into Canvas on either your phone app or your computer.
• On the app, click on the menu (three lines) at the top right corner of your screen. 
• Select "Studio." On your app, it is the second item down. On your computer, it is one of the menu items on the left side of your screen. This will redirect you to your own personal Canvas Studio, where you will upload your video. 
• Select "Add" at the top right of the screen. This will open a screen giving you the option of adding one of your videos or adding a video from YouTube.
• Choose "Browse Files," then "Photo Library." Find the video you want to upload, then click "Choose" when prompted.
• The video will be uploaded to Studio. This will take a minute or two, so be patient!

Once your video is loaded to your own Canvas Studio, submit it:

• This works from either the Canvas Student app OR your computer.
• Open the Davis Youth Orchestra and Philharmonic Course
• Select the assignment for your instrument
• Click "Submit Assignment."
• Click "Studio." Don't use any other option!
• The video(s) you uploaded in the app will be in your studio. Select the ONE you want to upload for your audition (you can only submit one video).
• Click "Embed."
• Click "Submit Assignment."
• ALL DONE!
