Helping Your Child Succeed in Canvas
Canvas is a newer program for me! Using it is a huge learning curve for all of us. As we move forward, hopefully, we will all become more confident in this program and how to navigate it properly. If you have questions, feel free to ask. I probably won't know the answer, but, I can find someone who does!
** If you are using a home device, the school will not be able to troubleshoot problems. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND USING A SCHOOL DEVICE SO STUDENTS WILL BECOME FAMILIAR WITH A SPECIFIC ROUTINE.
Canvas Student Guide
The Canvas Student Guide provides information and guidance related to all things Canvas! Below, you will find both the text and video versions of the Student Guide:

Has Your Child Missed Class?
If your child is absent, I will send home a RED, "KETCHUP" folder. It looks exactly like our blue parent communication folder, but it is RED. All the work that was completed in class will be in the folder so your child can "ketchup" on the skills he/she missed. All of our learning has a precise, learning order. We build upon what was learned the day previous. In order to keep your child moving forward, it is important that you complete any missed work in a timely manner.
State Required Testing
Students will be assessed three times throughout the year to determine if they are keeping up with their peers. Acadience reading and math tests will be given beginning, middle, and end of the year. Test results will be provided to you at parent-teacher conferences, now called ILPs, or when report cards are sent home.
