Mrs. van Oene

My name is Carla van Oene, it rhymes with tuna.  Oene is a small town in the Netherlands.  My name is spelled with a lower case "v" because the "van" means "from" in Dutch. So my name is "from Oene". 

 

I'm excited to be your student's teacher this year.  This year is my 27th year teaching.  

 I have been able to teach every elementary grade during my teaching career, but fifth grade has a special place in my heart and I am excited to be teaching fifth this year.   I graduated from Utah State with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Language Arts. Endorsements to my degree that I have are; Reading I, Reading II, ESL, and STEM.

I have been married to my sweetheart for a long time.  We have four wonderful children, three daughters-in-law and five of the most adorable grandbabies.  I feel very blessed to be a part of their lives.  

In my spare time I love to quilt, read and travel.   I am looking forward to getting to know you!
