Bountiful Davis Art Center DSD High School Show (Deadline March 10th)

DAVIS SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENT ART SHOW

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: FEB 10-MARCH 10, 2025

Each year, the Bountiful Davis Art Center hosts the Davis School District Student Art Show, an exhibition of art created by high school and junior high students in this area (Grades 6-12).  Being a part of this show gives students the opportunity to display their artwork in a gallery space and participate in a professionally juried show.  Each student will be able to submit up to three pieces of art. 

 

IMPORTANT DATES:

Applications open: Feb 10, 2025

Applications close: March 10, 2025 (before midnight)

Artists are notified: March 16, 2025 via email

Artwork drop-off @ BDAC for selected artists:

Sat. March 29, 2025 (noon-5pm)

Tues. April 1, 2025 (10am-2pm)

DSD Student Art Show on view: April 10-May 16, 2025

Opening reception: Thursday, April 10, 2025 @ 6-8pm. High school musicians perform 6-7pm.* Art awards will be announced at 7pm.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Each student may submit up to three pieces of art.  All 2-D art must be framed and ready to be hung. To make your art compatible with our hanging system, please attach D-rings and wire to the back of your 2-D art.  
  • Study-work (copying from artists or photographs) is acceptable with proper credit on the artwork’s label.
  • Art work must be delivered to the Bountiful Davis Art Center between during the specified drop-off dates.
  • Artists will be asked to fill-out a loan form upon drop-off. Art must be picked-up within a week of the show closing. BDAC is not responsible for work not picked up after May 24, 2025.
  • There will be one Best of Show Award given.  The Best of Show Winner will be considered for our summer Artist in Residence Program based on teacher recommendations. Additional awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd and honorable mentions) will be given in the other categories, according to medium.
  • Students may enter work in the following categories: painting, drawing, ceramics/sculpture, jewelry/glass arts, photography, mixed media, digital media, and other (textile arts, fashion, etc.).
