Objectives
Students will use the skills learned regarding the components and tools on maps, to create a map including keys, scales, latitude, longitude, cardinal and intermediate directions.
Assignment Instructions
Maps are an important tool in helping us understand where we are and where we are going. They tell us things like latitude and longitude, help us locate the hemisphere, can tell us about the climate, where to find natural resources, find landforms and regions, the list goes on! Maps can also tell us how to get from one location to another.
In this assignment, you will be creating your own map that shows how to get from your home to the school.
Guidelines
Your task is to create a map that will guide someone from your home to your school. You may create it by drawing on paper, creating a drawing in powerpoint, creating a model, or any other creative way you can think of! You will submit a picture or upload your document here on Canvas.
However you create it, it must include the following:
- Compass Rose
- Map Key
- Labeled Street Names
- Title
- Correct Capitalization
