Learning Objective
I will learn about the prehistoric people of Utah by studying some of the evidence that they left behind thousands of years ago.
Assignment
In our textbook, The Utah Adventure (pg. 24), it states the following: "We don't have newspapers or books or letters written by the people who lived here so long ago. We don't have any diaries from them. We think they did not have a written language. How do you think we can find out about them?" Watch the videos below to learn how we know about these ancient people.
Your assignment will be to create a short story using some of the same symbols Native Americans used thousands of years ago. When you are finished with your story, share it with your class.
Guidelines
- Get your supplies ready! You may choose to draw this or paint this on a large piece of paper. You may use crayons, colored pencils, markers or paint.
- Use the guide below to write a short story demonstrating how you think the Early People of Utah lived. Use symbols only! You will be graded on neatness (10 pts.), does your story make sense (10 pts.) and on your presentation (10 pts.).
- Share your story with your classmates.
