- Due Jan 14 by 10pm
- Points 10
- Submitting a text entry box or a file upload
- Available Jan 14 at 12am - Jan 21 at 11:59pm
OBJECTIVE
I will learn about the challenges early city planners had when thinking about how to set up the Salt Lake Valley.
ASSIGNMENT
I will create a list of the things I would do first if I were a pioneer and tasked with preparing the land for thousands of other people who want to come and settle here. I will then compare my list with others to see if anything has been forgotten.
GUIDELINES
Join with your classmates. Suppose you are part of the first group of Mormon pioneers to arrive in the Great Salt Lake Valley. You have ridden in wagons and walked more than 1,000 miles to get here. Now it is time for you to make the valley your home. You must help get it ready for thousands of other people who will come and join you. People will live here for a long time.
1. What will you have to do? In a text entry, make a list. Put the most important things first, then the next, and so on.
2. Compare your list with the lists of your classmates. Did you forget anything?
3. Which classmates have the best chance to start a successful settlement? Why?
