Nothing needs to be done at home. :)
Meet The Teacher: All About Mrs. Peterson
Hello! I am so excited to have the chance to introduce myself to you. My name is Ashley Peterson, and I am your child's 5th grade English Immersion teacher! I grew up in Bountiful, Utah, and attended Bountiful/Valley View/West Bountiful elementary schools, Bountiful Jr. High, and Viewmont High School. I went on to pursue a dual degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from Westminster College. I have also earned my ESL (English as a Second Language) Endorsement.
I student taught in both Kindergarten and 4th grade at Heritage Elementary in Layton, Utah, and was SO lucky to be able to stay here and teach 4th grade for six years. In 2014, I was honored with the Davis District CARE Award... Click the video to see me in action:
I then chose to take an "early retirement" for two years with the birth of my second child. I came back to teaching in 2016 in 4th grade at Muir Elementary in Bountiful, Utah. I taught there for 4 years. I am now super excited to be "home" at Heritage! This will be my fifth year back at Heritage as a Chinese Immersion English partner teacher, and I am thrilled to be working with Tian Laoshi this year in my second year of teaching 5th Grade!
When I am not in the classroom, I love to spend time with my family. I am the wife to an amazing husband, Brandon, and mom to three darling kiddos: Reagan, Sadie and Sterling. We also have an adorable Cavapoo puppy named Ollie. As a family, we love to travel, watch movies, go out to eat, read books, enjoy the outdoors, go on "adventures", play games, go to the park, have dance parties in the living room, sing at the top of our lungs, exercise, go to Lagoon, get drinks at Fiiz, go shopping, and just be together.
Some other random things about Mrs. Peterson:
My favorite colors are: navy blue, green, and pink
My favorite drinks are: Diet Dr. Pepper (with coconut), Diet Coke, and Fresca
My favorite restaurants are: Aubergine Kitchen, Burley Burger, Costa Vida, and Chick-Fil-A

Has Your Child Missed Class?
If your child is sick or showing any signs of illness, please keep them home! If they are absent, they will be missed! :)
Have your child complete the daily content in Canvas for the days they missed- everything we do in class is also posted on Canvas each day.
They will have one day per day they were absent to get their absent work completed before it is considered "missing".
School work will NOT be sent home ahead of time (for vacations or prearranged absent days. No exceptions!) Any missing work can be completed when your child returns back to school.
Friday Memo Emails
Each Friday, we will send out a "Friday Memo" that will include weekly plans and all of the important information you need to know for the upcoming week. Please make sure you read this email fully each week so that you always know what is going on in our classrooms!
