The Rundown:
To practice your creative skills, you will be introduced to 3 methods of creative thinking and will be asked to capture 3 unique photos based on these methods.
You will be using your own personal phone camera for this assignment. However, if you don't have a phone camera, or don't have one you feel comfortable to use, you are welcome to ask to use one of the class cameras. We will introduce using these cameras during Unit 2, so try to use what you have already (your phone) for now - it gets you used to using your personal equipment better and makes learning the techniques simpler at the very beginning.
The Instruction:
If you were absent during the first day of class, or if you need a refresher on any of the 3 techniques for boosting creativity, you can read about them all on this page.
The Requirements:
Using the 3 Creativity Techniques and what we've discussed about creativity as inspiration, you are to capture your own creative photo.
To keep it simple... you are only capturing one single photo for this assignment. However, as such, this photo better be the coolest thing you've done in a long time... This is meant to show your effort to do something unique and creative - a good way to get the class going.
Once you've captured the photo, submit it to this assignment page. We'll share each of them in class.
Hint: Don't overthink this or think it has to be perfect... You might try taking as many photo ideas as you can and submitting just the best one. Or, perhaps, start by looking up inspiration online Links to an external site., or by looking at examples of past student projects Links to an external site..
