The Rundown:
Now that you have completed your storyboard, it's time to start filming! However, not everyone can film their video in class. Because of this, it is your responsibility to film your project on your own time some time in the next few days (perhaps plan it for your weekend, if needed).
In the meantime, you'll need to become familiar with our editing software - Adobe Premiere Pro. Having worked as a professional editor in the video industry, I can absolutely say I love this program... It just takes a second to become familiar with. So let's get started!
The Instruction:
Premiere Pro is Adobe's own video editing software. As a student in the State of Utah, you are provided a free subscription to Adobe for you to use both at school and on a personal computer at home. You just need to download the software!
To access Adobe on your classroom computer, simply press "Command + Spacebar" on your keyboard. A little search tool should pop up. When it does, type "Premiere", and click on the application that pulls up. Your program should start loading onto the computer.
The Requirements:
Luckily for us, Premiere Pro offers its own in-app tutorials for new users. You may access these tutorials by clicking "Help" and then "In-App Tutorials". Like so:
After clicking this option, you will be taken to Premiere Pro's typical layout with some added tutorials on the left-hand side. Depending on your computer's version of Premiere Pro, your tutorials will either be called "Create your first video" and "Take your first video further" (see example on left below), or they will be called "Premiere Pro Overview" and "Learn the Basics".
In some cases, your lab computer may not load the in-app tutorials. If so, you can still perform the tutorials by once again clicking on "Help" and "Premiere Pro Online Tutorials". If you use this route, follow the pictures and text on the right below for instructions on what to do. If you use the in-app tutorials, follow the pictures and text on the left side below.
Once you have completed this tutorial, take a screenshot of your screen showing your completions.
Afterward, complete at least one more tutorial of your choosing. Take a screenshot of this completed tutorial as well and turn in both pictures in to this assignment page.
In total, you should complete three tutorials: two intro tutorials, and one advanced tutorial of your choosing. Submit screenshots of completing all three here.
P.S. Don't forget to go film asap so you can edit your footage in class in the next few periods.
