Using a Tripod or Monopod
Stabilization is critical to helping your videos go from amateur to professional. Tripods and Monopods are essential tools that help you eliminate camera shake and have more stable footage.
Here's some tips to make using a tripod easier:
- Begin with your shot in mind. Instead of putting your camera on a tripod, then looking for the shot, do the opposite: find the perfect shot, then set up the tripod to film it.
- Adjust the tripod legs to the proper height, making sure to lower the bottom legs first. Don't loosen the legs too much, though as they will fall off!
- Push the button to remove the quick release plate, then attach it to the camera. Slide the plate back into the tripod head until you hear a "click", then tighten it down.
- Level the camera, if needed, by adjusting the head.
