The Rundown:
Throughout this unit, you are going to be creating your own music video. This is perhaps one of the most creative and in-depth projects you'll get to do during this semester, and the product easily turn out to be one of your best. What's better - you'll get to use some of your favorite music as inspiration for this video.
The Requirements:
- Instead of the normal 3-4 minute music video, you are going to create one that is 1.5 minutes long.
(This will allow you to focus on creating a high quality product - one that uses both the story-telling and lighting techniques taught in this unit - without biting off more than you can chew.)
- You will need to choose a song from which you can be creative.
This could be any song which inspires you, which you connect to, or one which simply sounds cool or has good lyrics. Whatever the case, all songs chosen must be clean and appropriate for a school setting.
- You may either base this music video on some kind of narrative story or on some form of cool, visual concept (see "Intro to Music Videos" lesson for ideas).
Whatever you do, your video must be unique, creative, and demonstrate thought and effort.
If you want to do a unique, non-narrative idea (such as recording a live band), ask the teacher for feedback and permission before moving forward.
