English 9

Welcome to high school!

High school English focuses on giving students the skills they need to gather information, to think critically about it, and to use it for meaningful communication. These skills include reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and presenting. This course will challenge students to think independently and communicate thoughtfully.

About Your Teacher, Mrs. Pearce

Personal: I'm the proud mother of two amazing boys (they are grown men, but they'll always be my babies) and the wife of an amazing husband.

Hobbies: I love to walk, hike, bike, go to the beach, garden, visit gardens, and watch my kids (again, they're adults) and husband play sports. And . . . can I be honest? I love to sit on the couch and watch TV, too!

Education: I attended Cambridge University, went broke, and then completed my Bachelor's degree with a double major in psychology and English at Weber State. I then earned my Master's degree in Pedagogy and Curriculum Development at Western Governor's University.
