As more immigrants and Americans moved West, conflict increased between these new settlers and the Native Americans already living there. Violent conflicts occurred and eventually more Native Americans were either resettled to live on reservations or assimilated where their culture was forced to be rejected. You will be watching a video that gives an overview of the events between Americans and Native Americans after the Civil War.
