Freshwater ecosystems includes things like rivers, streams, swamps, ponds, and freshwater lakes. The health and diversity of these ecosystems depend on many different abiotic and biotic factors. These are factors of non-living and living things that work together in a system.

Your Assignment: You must plan (but NOT conduct) an experiment based on how abiotic factors affect an ecosystem. For your experiment you need the following:
- A scientific question. Your experiment will attempt to answer this question
- List of materials needed to conduct the experiment
- A procedure for conducting the experiment. This should be step by step and detailed enough that you could give the instructions to another person to carry out the experiment without you.
- An inference. (If you were to conduct this experiment, what do you think the results might some research for this part).
